Milpitas: The Picklr Indoor Club is Coming
In Milpitas, the big news is the arrival of The Picklr, a new indoor pickleball facility slated to open in May 2026. The Picklr

What’s planned:

  • A massive space (43,485 square feet) repurposed from a former furniture store. X (formerly Twitter)

  • Member perks like unlimited play, league access, and nationwide reciprocity. The Picklr

This is more than just courts—it’s a full-fledged pickleball club that brings infrastructure, community, and programming under one roof. For the Bay Area’s indoor pickleball scene, this is a big step.
Why This Matters

  • Meeting demand: The popularity of pickleball has outpaced existing facilities in much of the Bay Area. Having more indoor and public courts eases scheduling pressures and expands access.
  • Year-round play: The indoor facility in Milpitas means weather and daylight are no longer constraints—players can play regardless of rain or season.
  • Community building: With leagues, clinics, and events, these facilities become social hubs. It brings people together around something healthy and fun.
  • Economic & neighborhood impact: Such facilities can increase foot traffic, support local small businesses (shops, cafes, sports retailers), and raise awareness of the sport in the broader community.

What to Watch

    • The final number of courts and configuration at The Picklr facility (e.g. how many are full-size, training courts, etc.).
    • Membership pricing, reservation policies, and how “open play” will be balanced with league & tournament bookings.
    • The usage and maintenance of Fremont’s public courts—how well they hold up over time.

Whether these expansions will inspire nearby cities (e.g. San Jose, Santa Clara, etc.) to pursue similar projects.

Pickleball lovers in the Bay Area now have even more reasons to rejoice. Whether you’re in Fremont or Milpitas and looking forward to a full-service indoor club, that is closer than any of the Hub locations, the future is bright.
